SlidesAI.io makes your slides look pro… but not small

Continuing the AI journey around Google Slides, after ChatGPT, I played with SlidesAI.io (from the quite discreet Zestrv company). More than 200k installs. 3.5/5 rating on the marketplace.

The concept is pretty good, and it does work. You have two choices:

  1. From a completely blank presentation, you simply input your text (what you would have written if it was a simple text document) and you let SlidesAI make the presentation for you: it will create pages, change the layout, add images… And the result is, if you’re not a heavy user of the Google tool, good looking. I won’t lie. With a bit of time and experience, you’ll do better. 🚨 One tip they give, and it’s important: Don’t use SlidesAI as ChatGPT, do not enter instructions, enter your text, what you want to be visible on the slides.
  2. From an existing presentation, or from one generated with the method above, you can then ask SlidesAI to rephrase some sentences and paragraphs, to change images. Regarding this last point, it will prompt images from Unsplash (that I love) and from Pixabay (that I don’t know). Based on the textual content of the current page. So far so good!

If you’ve read my last article about Slidesgo, or simply looked at the cover image, you know where I’m going: images are not compressed! (god damn it!). And so the presentation is much bigger than it should be.

Easy to fix 🛠️:

  1. Install Boa Compress
  2. Register to the Beta (free, no mailing)
  3. Use it. Simple.
